What’s Covered?
The SIA CCTV Course is divided in to 3 units:
Unit 1: Working in the Private Security Industry
Unit 2: Working as a CCTV Operator
Unit 3: Practical Use of CCTV Systems
Entry Requirement
Learners must have a good understanding of English. Learners must be aged at least 18 or over and provide a form of suitable photographic ID & proof of address prior to the exam.
About the course
This is a 3 day course which covers all the topics to help you pass your CCTV exam and enable you to work as a qualified CCTV Operator.
How long does it take for the license to come through?
Generally speaking, it can take between 3-5 weeks if there are no complications with the application. However, incomplete or incorrectly completed applications can take significantly longer.

A deposit is required to secure your place and will need to be paid prior to the start date of the course, the balance is then payable on the day the course commences.
What happens if I fail the course?
Quite simple. You can re-sit again free of charge. You can also sit through any of the units again if you choose to. That’s free too! In the unlikely event of you scoring particularly badly on any of the modules we will make a recommendation on what you should do next.
English is not my first language. Can I use a dictionary for the test?
Yes, you may use a paper dictionary but NOT an electronic one. The invigilator will need to check it before the exams to ensure it conforms to the awarding
